100 Days of Journal Prompts: Day 53

Each day, laptop and children permitting, I’ll share a prompt that’s been on my mind, and a few of my thoughts.

You are welcome to share your own perspective in the comments, or just journal it out!

Describe a typical day.

Back in March of 2020, when Joe was home from work for the pandemic, we began setting alarms on our phones for the kids’ routine. Wake Up. Lunch Time. Nap Time/Quiet Time. Dinner Prep. Dinner Time. Bedtime.

It was a lot of alarms 😂, but it helped us get in the swing of some semblance of normalcy.

Finally, last month, I turned all of the alarms off. Our day looks a little different now, but we know the drill.

Including my kids! Just the other day, my little girl said “First we play outside for a loo-ooong time, then lunch time, then circle time, then show time!”

I laughed. Spot on.

They also know the days of the week now, and I’ve passed on my habit of celebrating Fridays (for better or for worse). They know that means the next two days we get to have Daddy home.

I’m grateful for his job, and his hard work.

I do a lot of writing and editing and virtual meetings these days as well. I finally had to get a calendar to organize all the things. I guess that means I’m officially an adult.

What are you up to these days?

❤ Jenny

  1. I get out of bed a little before 6. I work from home from 7:30 until I’m done, which is usually sometime between 4 and 5 depending on the day and how many naps and breaks I take throughout the day, but sometimes it’s even later. I have the option of working from home or from my nearly empty place of work right now; I usually go physically into work about once a week in case I need to get stuff out of the file cabinet, or if I just want to get out of the house. That’s a 25 mile drive each way on those days. In the evening I eat while catching up on social media and WordPress, then I do some combination of more work, if applicable; housework; going to the big park by my house and walking and playing Pokemon Go for a while; or just sitting around doing nothing. That’s pretty much every day these days… :\
