Each day, laptop and children permitting, Iโll share a prompt thatโs been on my mind, and a few of my thoughts.
You are welcome to share your own perspective in the comments, or just journal it out!
What are some of my go-to grocery items?
I’ve been working really hard, and I’m proud to say that we’ve mostly gotten used to buying and using our produce before it goes bad. We like bell peppers, baby carrots, and my kids go through the Cutie oranges bag in less than a week!
We also love peanut-butter-chocolate-chip-graham-crackers at snack time, so I stock up for those.
And Joe will usually buy any meat that’s on a good deal in bulk to build our dinners around. (He does the shopping on his way home from work so that I don’t have to take the kids!)
How about you? Favorite tips for storing/using produce? What snacks and dinners does your family enjoy? Is there a veggie you always surprise the cashier with (bok choy, eggplant, tomatillos)?

I am in a rut when it comes to buying food- same veggies, same meat etc. My best recipes are food students give me ๐

I do a bulk shop once a week and plan my dinners. I still have a bit of wastage but it goes into the worm farm most of the time. Spaghetti bolognese seems to be a weekly meal the kids always ask for, which is good because I turn it into lasagna for another meal and can pack in the vegetables. No one ever notices the shredded veggies!

That is so smart to shred veggies into lasagna and spaghetti. My kids love those foods, too! We also need to start a compost pile. Thanks for the tips!

Chips and salsa is one I’ve heard a few times. It’s a staple in our house, too! And I am working on switching ice cream for yogurt, too! You are probably better at it than I am lol.

I’m trying, but it’s difficult because I LOVE ice cream. I still get a Dairy Queen Blizzard every once in a while.
