The biggest thing on my mind lately…
It’s hard to say!
One thing I’ve been looking forward to is the end of our podcast season. It’s actually been fantastic this year as far as work-flow goes.
The thing I struggle with the most is my social media usage! If you are on other platforms, how do you handle that?!
Some things that work for me:
- I curate my feed meticulously. I choose accounts that inspire me, make me think, make me laugh, or feel like a genuine friendship. I also go through about quarterly and take a look at who I’m actually interacting with. It really helps!
- I try to protect certain times of the day: morning snuggles, mealtime, circle time, storytime/bedtime, couple time, and before I go to sleep… I am 100% not perfect at this. I’m hoping to take one section at a time and develop intentional, present habits.
- I do try to plan some of my posts and material ahead of time. I have a big google doc where I brainstorm ideas and a few Canva images ready to go. But this ebbs and flows. Today, aside from the prompt itself, I’m writing off the cuff.
But what I get caught up in the most is my all-or-nothing thinking. When I feel the need for a break, I can’t seem to take one unless I delete it altogether! When I want to interact with friends and share what’s on my heart, I can’t seem to get on without staying there for waaaaayy too long.
I really believe that, like other things, social media is a tool that we can use to build up and connect if we choose to. Or to compare and numb out of the moments that matter.
How are you intentional when it comes to this? I need aaaaalll the advice 😅.
