100 Days of Journal Prompts: Day 80

Each day, laptop and children permitting, I’ll share a prompt that’s been on my mind, and a few of my thoughts.

You are welcome to share your own perspective in the comments, or just journal it out!

What is my favorite parenting advice?

Playing off of our last journal prompt, what is your best parenting advice?

Every time someone asks me this, I get a little hesitant.

While it’s a topic I could talk for hours about 🤣, it’s also one I feel very passionately about is INDIVIDUAL.

Yep. Bold. Italicized. ALL CAPS.

Thus, I usually say one of two things:

  1. You are exactly the parent your child needs. Do what works for you and your family!
  2. It’s not about the strategy you use; it’s about the relationship.

What’s your favorite tip?

❤ Jenny

  1. I’m not a parent myself, but the advice I give to parents, especially new parents or parents of very young children, is to teach kids to say words like booger and fart and pee. If you make up cute euphemisms for bodily functions, then the kid will inevitably grow up thinking those words are normal, and then embarrass him/herself in front of his friends at school by calling bodily functions by the cute euphemism. I know from experience.
