#49: How Do You Know When to Raise the Bar?

Today’s prompt is:

Feel free to listen in and share your own thoughts πŸ‘‡πŸΎ.

“That’s something your past self would have been happy with.”

This remark had my wheels spinning all week!

And it was absolutely true. The question is – is that a good or a bad thing?

The more I grow, the higher my standards become. …but it’s also exhausting to go through life being constantly dissatisfied with yourself

So, how do you know when you’re ready to raise the bar?

We share a few of our thoughts today, but I’ll warn you it may not be for the faint of heart πŸ˜‰

How about you? How do you usually decide when to push yourself? Can you celebrate your successes at the same time?

  1. I listened to this episode and I agree with you, Jenny, that it seems impossible to have complete contentment and still strive for more. I think you can be CONTENT with more IF it comes along, but to strive for it?
And yet, are we meant to sit back and be lazy, to not go after things we enjoy or want? It’s a difficult question. I believe that we should always be striving to be better people, though.

    1. Thank you for listening, Brandon! Sorry I’ve been so behind with the comments lately 😡. But for real! Sometimes Joe says really inspiring stuff and I’m like – hmmm… Hahaha! It’s going to take me a bit to wrap my head around that. I want to grow, but I can also get overwhelmed really easily.
