Anyone training for a summer race??
I had a goal of running a half marathon this summer, but sadly, I had plantar fasciitis all winter long.
Luckily, it’s getting better! So I asked Joe a question that’s been on my mind.
How do I know when to push through??
When I have the lung capacity and the mental willpower, but I’m physically hurt, how can I tell if it’s a “good hurt” or a “bad hurt”?
I don’t want to re-injure myself, and I want to honor my body by taking it easy.
…But I also want to challenge myself. #iykyk
As a long-time trail runner, Joe had some amazing tips:
- Is the pain affecting your gait/stride?
- It isn’t necessarily between run or don’t run – you can get out and still take it easy!
- Watch for acute pain (versus generalized pain or soreness).
Listen in and let us know what you think.
Thanks for being here!
